Metropolis (2001 Anime) Opening Scene
Since this movie first came out I have always wanted to see a live action feature done. I think The likes of maybe Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson or Ang Lee. Someone who can do it justice.

My first attempt of a fan-made superhero trailer.This is the unofficial birth of Ultraman from the multiverse of Earth-3. Scenes taken from Superman 1&3 as well as the ending to the Man of Steel teaser trailer. The speech at the beginning was of Jor-El from Superman 1.

I have read that Dredd well not get a sequel but instead it well get the short film treatment like the Punisher did with it's "DirtyLaundry" film. But then again the DVD and BR sales are going pretty good so just maybe if every body gets them self's a DVD then we could have a sequel dammit.
1:49 - They had to use body double for that shot because no one on the film crew could get Karl Urban to take off the helmet after he put it on.
Was barely a teen when this came out. First exposure to how our world and species is both wonderful and terrifying in equal measure

Let me guess, this is an animated remake of the Fritz Lang movie?
Half correct. Long story: A single still from Lang's film inspired a then-green Osamu Tezuka to write a original story about robots. This Metropolis is an amalgamation of Lang's film and Tezuka's Manga, with screenwriter Katsuhiro Otomo also adding in themes from his Akira manga/film (specifically the arrogance of man and inevitability of violence and calamity)
this scene alone beats the entire uprising movie
One of the BEST openings in anime or film history! From the sounds of Duke Red's footsteps as he ascends his pedestal, to the imagery of his speech where it goes from sepia tone and film damage to vibrant and technicolor!

Brings a tear to my eye how visually and auditorially perfect this film is. Maybe it shouldn't get a sequel because it can't be topped. I'm drinking the Kool aid on this cult classic.
Did you know, in Dredd mega city one has a population of 800 million, compared to the 300+ million in todays U.S.A, and 17,000 crimes reported daily, opposed to 28,000 in real life U.S.A, that means that the crime rate in real life America is four times higher than in mega city one!
It might just refer to serious crimes rape assault murder. If we assume that 10% of these are homicides for example ie 1700 murders per day that translates into over 600k homicides per year. The equivalent if this was at the current US rate would be about 50000k. Again it depends on how the writers defined 'crime'. Or maybe they don't do math very well.
@@florinivan6907 100%, obviously this may be what the 'statistic' was at the time, definitely may not be accurate, but may just be seriously violent crimes only
@@0Petercool0 They didn't do the math. MegaCity One is too small for 800 million, at the density of the comics they could squeeze in Earth's entire population. IMO this occured because early on the setting changed from a futuristic New York into a large chunk of the East Coast without enough thought behind it. So no way will any crime statistics be accurate at all.

This movie was absolutely insane on the big screen, the Slo-Mo sequences in 3D were fucking nuts, especially the one at the end. The sound design alone was out of control; that first note of the soundtrack had the entire theater rumbling. I really wish a sequel would happen.
As an old school judge dredd comic fan,i approve 1000%.

I hate to be the party pooper here, but there must be someone in this world who hates Japanese anime as much as I do. I only came here cause I saw it referred to with the Fritz Lang original which was brilliant.
I hate anime but this film is straight up incredible its beautifully animated. None of the tropes of modern anime with the gratuitous boobie and panty shots, laughable dialogue, awful designs, stupid scenes being played straight, cringey tropes like those high pitched women with baby voices that people who have never touched a woman always have as their profile pictures. I will be the first to say anime sucks but this film is incredible, i would definitely recommend it.

this would have kicked ass in the cinema, what with all the relatively weak marketing it would have been a great ride! one of the rare times a movie is better than its marketing/hype etc

I remember being in the theatre watching this. Near the end these three aholes decided they'd start talking. It was brand-new to America and not going to be in theatres long. Finally I turned around and told them to shut up.
Great film. Way better than the Stallone version.
